Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information — written in plain English and compliant with BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
The short version
We collect the minimum information we need to answer your call, show up at your home, give you a quote, treat the problem, and guarantee the work. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers. We don’t run re-marketing pixels on your visit. If you ever want us to delete everything we have on you, email [email protected] and we will, within thirty days.
What we collect, and why
- Contact details — name, phone, email, service address. Used to respond to your inquiry, schedule a visit, and honour our guarantee.
- Service history — dates, technicians, treatments, pests found, photos of the work. Kept for our guarantee window plus seven years for tax and audit compliance.
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store full card numbers.
- Analytics — aggregated, non-identifying page views and referrer data via server logs. No third-party tracking pixels, no Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics audience tracking.
- Pest identification uploads — photos submitted to /identifyare processed by Anthropic’s Claude API for species ID. We retain uploads for seven days for quality review, then delete them.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with parties who need it to deliver your service: our technicians, our accounting provider, our payment processor (Stripe), and our software vendors bound by contract to protect it. We do not sell data. We do not license data to marketers. We do not use your contact details for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
Contact details and service records: seven years from your last visit, for tax compliance and warranty support. Photos from treatments: three years from the treatment date. Payment tokens: managed by Stripe per their retention policy. Pest-ID uploads: seven days.
Your rights under PIPA
British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act gives you the right to access any personal information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, and in most cases request deletion. Email [email protected] with the subject line PIPA requestand we’ll respond within thirty days. No fees.
Security
Customer data lives in SOC 2–compliant Canadian data centres. Access is restricted to active employees on a need-to-know basis and revoked on departure. All traffic to this site is served over TLS 1.3. We run quarterly security reviews and have never experienced a data breach.
Children
We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Our service is a B2C and B2B service for adult property owners and business operators.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we’ll update the Last updated date at the top and email anyone on our active-customer list. Archival versions of every prior policy are available on request.
